Don Melchor, Cabernet Sauvignon
Manufacturer:
Toby Morhall
Tasting: Maipo Cabernet
Cedary cabernet, medium intense. Succulent fruit, well supported by ripe tannins and fresh acidity.
Peter Richards
Tasting: Maipo Cabernet
Restrained nose; some bloody, dark fruit emerges. Brooding style. Sweet fruit on the attack; then burly tannins take over, then prickly alcohol. It’s ungainly. Quite a lot to it, but lacks grace.
Patricio Tapia
Tasting: Maipo Cabernet
The mint and cinnamon notes are covered by cherry flavours on this Cabernet; the body feels grand and complete, with soft and round tannins and sweet notes towards the finish.
