Tasting: Coonawarra & Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon

Delicate cigar box on nose, smells quite expensive, textured multi-layered on palate, some of the fruit is quite closed and the tannin seems somewhat closed, but there is clearly some good wine here.

Medium to deep colour. Herbaceous, lifted nose, red berry fruit. Attractively fruity, if simple, yet well balanced & well made. A good commercial example of Margaret River Cabernet.

Good depth of youthful ruby, attractively fragrant dark berry, cassis fruits with a delicate herbal tinge and really nice ripe opulent mid-palate cassis and plum weight and richness framed by fine chocolatey tannins and good savoury acidity; extremely well-balanced.
